JavaScript Job: UI Expert

This role has been designated as ‘Edge’, which means you will primarily work outside of an HPE office.

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced User Interface architect and developer to work in an international R&D team. The user interface team is currently composed by 10 people and it is being expanded. This team is in charge of the definition and development of all the user interfaces for the HPE Orchestration R&D products. The team interacts frequently with the backend teams, Product Owners and Release Managers located in India, Denmark, France, Spain, Germany and Switzerland so there is constant English interaction.

Job Family Definition:

Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, or Internet- related computer programs, primarily for end users. Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications. Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.

Management Level Definition:

Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. May provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.

Responsibilities:

• Leads multiple project teams of other software applications engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration.
• Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on software applications design and development.
• Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with applications design and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
• Provides domain-specific expertise and overall software applications leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
• Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software applications design organization.
• Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• Typically 6-10 years experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Solid, documented experience in design, implementation and testing of Javascript-based User Interfaces. This includes AngularJS, Angular 8 and Spring Boot as used as the primary development technologies, coupled the use of Selenium for automated testing.
• Microservices architecture experiences is required as well to be able to develop and design according to the best practices.
• Further, the candidate must have hands-on experience with Agile development methodology and tools. Agile tools support include GitHub, Jenkins, maven, Nexus, etc.
• All designs and development are conducted in English, so candidates must be fluent in English (both verbally and in writing) and local language.
• The candidates is expected to be able to cope with a high stress level, while remaining flexible and friendly towards team members and (internal) customers
• Docker/kubernetes, AWS, and cloud deployment experience would be nice to have
• NodeJS/Express experience would be nice to have
• Knowledge on Microfrontend technology and Webcomponents would be nice to have
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.
